About
Built from sources, not opinions.
An independent, bilingual vaccine guide for Hong Kong.
What this is
hkvaccines.com is a bilingual, evidence-led vaccine guide for people living in Hong Kong. It covers 11 vaccines relevant to HK adults and children, with HK-specific schedules, products, and where to access them.
Most vaccine information online is written for a US or UK audience. Age cut-offs, funded programmes, recommended schedules, and even the products available all change at the border. This site puts HK guidance first.
Why it exists
A few too many GP appointments ended with "let me check what's actually available in HK" — and the patient leaving with a Google search to do. The guidance exists. The HK Centre for Health Protection, the Drug Office, the Family Health Service all publish it. It's just scattered, often only in English, and rarely framed for the person trying to make a decision. This site is the version I wished existed.
How it works
Every claim traces to a primary source. Priority order:
- HK Centre for Health Protection / Department of Health — recommendations, programme eligibility, schedules
- HK Drug Office — product registration and availability
- HK Hospital Authority — clinical context
- International bodies (WHO, US CDC, UK MHRA, FDA) — context only, never as the primary HK indication source
If HK guidance and international guidance disagree, HK guidance leads.
Who publishes this site
hkvaccines.com is published by HK Vaccines, an independent Hong Kong health information project. The site is operated on its own resources, with no affiliation to the HK Government, the Department of Health, or any vaccine manufacturer.
Editorial independence
We apply strict editorial rules to keep the site manufacturer-neutral:
- All HK-registered vaccine products for a given indication are listed in every product table — equal depth across manufacturers
- Product comparisons follow HK CHP guidance, not implicit product preference
- No financial relationship with any vaccine manufacturer
- No advertising, no sponsorship, no commercial partnerships of any kind
If you ever feel a page reads as biased, please flag it.
