In Hong Kong, where you go depends on the vaccine and your eligibility.

Children's vaccines

Under the Hong Kong Childhood Immunisation Programme, children aged 0 to 5 are vaccinated at Maternal and Child Health Centres, and primary-school children are vaccinated at school by the Department of Health's School Immunisation Teams. The HPV vaccine is also delivered to Primary 5 and 6 girls through the school programme.

Flu and COVID-19 vaccines

These two are available at:

  • Participating private doctors: over a thousand doctors take part in the seasonal flu programmes, some offering free or subsidised vaccination.
  • District Health Centres and their service outlets.
  • The Hospital Authority's general outpatient clinics and public hospitals (subject to eligibility).

Vaccination Subsidy Scheme (VSS)

If you fall into a subsidised group but don't qualify for free vaccination, you can be vaccinated at a participating private doctor, with the government covering part of the cost and you paying the rest. The government's voucher and subsidy website has a search for participating clinics by district.

Travel vaccines

Some travel-related vaccines, such as yellow fever, must be given at the Department of Health's Travel Health Centres. The yellow fever vaccine is only available at designated centres.

Before you go

Different sites offer different vaccines and service hours. Before you go, confirm the site has the vaccine you need and whether you need an appointment (see "Do I need an appointment, or can I walk in?").
